Hello, there! I’m Christopher, which you should have known if you saw my cute little green logo. So, let me not distract you from the following post. I hope you like it! I’d love to hear your thoughts after you’re done reading it! Enjoy!
No doubt about it: I love Christmas! And I’m sure many people just love it too. We give gifts to our family and friends. We might as well share some Christmas cheer to our coworkers and neighbors. And that’s our focus, mainly. Some people will go the extra mile and donate to charity or something like that. And that’s all good. But what God did on Christmas is the reason why we give. He gave the same gift to everyone.
Wow. Everyone. It was a gift of love, the opportunity to spend eternity with him forever.
Now you might have already accepted Christ as Savior. Then, who did you tell about that experience? Most people sit in their houses, keeping it all them themselves.
NO! That’s not what we’re supposed to do. We need to spread the word! We need to be excited to tell everyone about this free gift. This is called evangelizing. Telling others the good news.
But why don’t we do so? Because we’re puny Christians! Our purpose in life is to reach others with the Gospel. But instead, we are staying in our comfort zones. We are praying that someone can turn the country back to God. Well, that’s not going to happen if we just sit around. It’s good to pray, be we aren’t evangelizing. We need to get out there and talk and reach people.
And I’m not against praying. We sometimes need to move. But we can pray for people when not in contact and we can pray for people out of our reach. Pray for the president. Pray for our government. Pray for those flying planes. Pray that the bar owner will drop his business. Pray for celebrities. I know there are some back-slidden Christians who are now big in the biz. But those who are dead can not be converted. They are either in heaven or in hell.
To help you get started, read these two books, “One Thing You Can’t Do In Heaven” by Mark Cahill and “Don’t Waste Your Life” by John Piper. Buy some tracts and pass them out. Talk with people and pray for them.
I have had several opportunities to pass out tracts. And I was really shy going up to them, but the feeling of telling others the good news is great!
If you tell others about this good news, you have just made their Christmas complete.
If you don’t have Jesus in your heart, I strongly suggest you accept him right away. There may never be a next time. Just tell Him that you love him and are sorry for your sinful ways. Ask him for forgiveness and ask him into your heart. Surrender your life to him, for he has the best plan for you.
And if you did accept him, welcome to the family of God! Come back to this website for more devotions to help you grow closer to God.
Hello again! I’m so happy you finished reading my post, and, boy, do I hope you liked it!
