Hello, there! I’m Christopher, which you should have known if you saw my cute little green logo. So, let me not distract you from the following post. I hope you like it! I’d love to hear your thoughts after you’re done reading it! Enjoy!
I can get pretty upset. And sometimes what upsets me is how people don’t use their Disqus accounts to the fullest extent. I’m sure there are a few who are just there to comment only a few comments, but what about those who are active commenters? So here are 5 tips for those with Disqus accounts to improve your reputation.
1. Don’t be mean.
This is something I see. Some people can be very mean and use language (I didn’t see the language part). Get your point across with tact, while also getting your point across. I admit, sometimes I could come across harsh, but I usually regret it. I have asked a few to “Save Your Voice (Quiet Down Boy)” a few times, but it is a choice you have to make.
2. Upvote others.
I love going into my notifications and seeing that others upvoted me. And I love upvoting others! Nothing pleases me more when I help others’ reputation go up! I am doing a favor for them that I hope to receive back.
3. Follow others.
It’s insane, but I am following more than 300 people on Disqus! And I have seen a few who are following many, many more! Some follow more than thousands of people (which is really insane). Now, I am not saying “FOLLOW EVERYONE,” but do follow some people. I and Trent Blake try to follow as many Christians as possible (and also to promote our sites). The thing is, I love to see that someone decided to follow me! It really excites me and makes my day!
4. Have an avatar.
Now, I’m not talking about the movie, I’m talking about the profile picture. It can be boring seeing a blank face. And it can be easier to spot people (like some say “The mime is MimeForJesus (now has a different name), the candy corn is Sam S, and I don’t know who Christopher is,” because I am constantly changing my avatar.
5. Be active as much as possible.
Seriously, this is something that is tough, something I struggle with. I have a Word document with a bunch of pre-typed comments and wish I could easily post them all! Being active show how much you care.
These are just a few tips for you and your Disqus account!
Now, some of you might think I am going against my fifth tip, because sometimes I am not too active. Well, I am most active in Disqus because it is easy to use and it is used widely. So some places I try to comment as much as possible, but I am busy and can’t do everything.
Hello again! I’m so happy you finished reading my post, and, boy, do I hope you liked it!
