Hello, there! I’m Christopher, which you should have known if you saw my cute little green logo. So, let me not distract you from the following post. I hope you like it! I’d love to hear your thoughts after you’re done reading it! Enjoy!
Hi guys! So, summer’s coming and, for some of you, that means VBS! So I want to share some VBS memories that I submitted to Adventures in Odyssey ClubHouse Magazine for one of their columns, which the topic never reached printed paper. Did that make sense?
“I have some great VBS memories! In 2008, a church was holding Concordia’s Friendship Trek and I signed-up to go. Oh my word, I had FUN! The pastor, I don’t remember why, asked me to act in some small skits with an older kid. And I have to say, that was my first acting experience! I wanted to go again the next year.
“And I did. That time they were hosting Concordia’s Gadget’s Garage. And I was the “star,” a robot named “Singer!” That was a lot of fun. (It was my first experience of fandom; all the kids, there weren’t many though, wanted to “meet” me.”)
“And on that same year, another church was holding Gospel Light’s SonWorld. (It was the same church that I went to Awana.) Because it had more kids, I had no skits to do. (Besides, there weren’t really skits there.) One memory I have is that we were singing and dancing to Hillsong Kids. For some reason, the music leader was calling out points for each grade group. And my group won on the first day! I don’t remember how many points we earned, but the next day we got zero. Probably I was screaming rather than screaming in order to earn some points. But I did that on the first day. Hmmm…
“I have not been to a VBS since, but I have been acting ever since. Vacation Bible School, I guess, brought me a talent I love.”
Do you have any great VBS memories? Tell me!
Hello again! I’m so happy you finished reading my post, and, boy, do I hope you liked it!
