Hello, there! I’m Christopher, which you should have known if you saw my cute little green logo. So, let me not distract you from the following post. I hope you like it! I’d love to hear your thoughts after you’re done reading it! Enjoy!
Hey, did you know that Bible memory is important?
Well, you better!
So, I am going to list five reasons why Bible memory is so important!
1. It is the Word of God
This is God’s precious gift to us. A gift with a ton of encouragements, principles, and rules to help us live. So, if we are down in the depths, need reminders, or tempted, then we should know God’s word so we can stay on the right path.
2. God’s Word Is Powerful
Just go back to the previous example. It is so powerful to remind us of so many things.
It’s not helpful for just us but also for others. All situations (and more, of course) mentioned above apply. If you want to say something encouraging, quote scripture! Someone’s sad, quote scripture! If someone is mean, quote Scripture! If some one is lost spiritually, then read on!
3. Be Able to Give an Answer For Your Faith and Evangelize
Without God’s Word, we can’t evangelize. We need to sow this seed of God’s Word. And, if we memorize the Word of God, then we can use it to catch the lost and bring them to Christ. You better know your scripture!
Sometimes the lost might question us about our faith. When that happens, then we should be ready to give an answer to defend our faith. And quoting scripture sometimes can help us with that. Don’t forget to ask the Holy Spirit to help you speak.
4. We Don’t Always Carry Our Bibles Around
Think about it, we don’t always carry that big book around with us So, we should hide it in our hearts. Then we can it carry around, mentally and spiritually. Now, I’m not saying you HAVE to memorize the WHOLE Bible, just key verses for starters and keep working your way through. Then you might be carrying your Bible in your head!
5. Freedom Might Be Lost.
We may never ever know when we might lose our freedom or go to a freedom stricken country. When it comes to that, then we should have the Bible in our hearts. Amen!
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV 1984
Hello again! I’m so happy you finished reading my post, and, boy, do I hope you liked it!
