Hello, there! I’m Christopher, which you should have known if you saw my cute little green logo. So, let me not distract you from the following post. I hope you like it! I’d love to hear your thoughts after you’re done reading it! Enjoy!
Once on a bus, I saw a drop of water that was at the top of the window and it was slowly coming down. Silently in my head, I urged it on to reach the bottom of the window. It was getting closer and closer. Then, it stopped. It didn’t make it.
Can you imagine what would happen if you got nothing done? This world would be a mess when nothing gets done. If I don’t finish my education, I won’t be able to live the life God called me to live. If I don’t finish my test, I won’t get a good grade. If I don’t finish my dinner, I would be very hungry.
We are called to finish what we start. Paul says to set our gaze on the prize before us. When we work, we can think about the prize we will receive for completing the task. If I finish my education, then I can work well for the Lord. If I complete the test, I might get a good grade (if I did finish studying for my test well). If I finish my dinner, I can go to bed satisfied with a full tummy.
We are called to do our work here on earth. We can do it poorly and unfinished, or we can do it well and finish strong. I want to do it well and finish strong! Yet I do want the prize, I want to do the work well. The prize is a great motivator, but it can prove a great distraction.
This website is a responsibility of mine and I need to look over my posts and see what really excites the fans and also see a balance of the work I do. If I do too many posts, I may get more visitors and page views, but I’m losing comments. If I do less posts, people are most likely to comment, but I get less stat records. I prefer hearing what the people think instead of having 25 visitors a day and not have any comments. The comments are a real prize for me. I need to do my work well.
There are many different forms of the prize. How the master, boss, or overseer will be pleased is one of them. Maybe it is tangible, like a trophy or a certificate. Also hearing kind words are cool. But we want to do a good job with our work.
So strive. Do it well in the name of Jesus.
Hello again! I’m so happy you finished reading my post, and, boy, do I hope you liked it!
