Hello, there! I’m Christopher, which you should have known if you saw my cute little green logo. So, let me not distract you from the following post. I hope you like it! I’d love to hear your thoughts after you’re done reading it! Enjoy!
Many people these days are buying luxury cars. Nice models with cool features and they're safer to drive. But they are expensive! And they also consume a lot of gas. Likewise, small cars don’t cost much and don’t consume as much gas!
My family of six owns two cars, one old used big car and a small car that is very new, both which God graciously supplied to us. 대구(Daegu) is between 1 1/2 to 2 hours from where I currently live. Now, check this out. It costs the big car $30 dollars of gas and $6 for toll on the highway. But the small car can travel on $10 of gas and gets 50% off of the toll!
The question here is: Which car is being a better steward of God’s money? Simply put, the smaller car! It doesn't cost as much, saves gas, and gets a discount on the highway!
Look at people around you, luxury cars, huge houses, fancy hotels, nice furniture, and whatnot. Life is not about us and pleasures°! We can live with a small car, a small house, semi-cheap hotels, and furniture that fits our needs. If we extend our needs to wants, then we are wasting God’s money.
Now let's think about secular movies and sin practices. Those aren’t any good for us and we deteriorate physically and spiritually. That is not how God wants us to live. We should be consuming uplifting media! We should use our money for God’s work.
Lately, everything has been rent this and rent that. Adobe Creative Cloud, Odyssey Adventure Club*, you get the point. I want to KEEP it! I want to keep the programs, I want to keep those episodes! Renting is a waste of God’s money.
God gave us money to use and to spend wisely. But if we abuse that gift, then we are showing him that he can not trust us with that gift. We want to show God he can trust us with the money we have.
*I wanna say that I agree with both views of the OAC, it’s a waste of money re rent and it’s supporting Focus like Patreon. You can read an article I wrote here.
°I wanna add that it is okay to treat yourself to a little fun (that pleases the Lord). But it shouldn’t be our focus.
Hello again! I’m so happy you finished reading my post, and, boy, do I hope you liked it!
