Hello, there! I’m Christopher, which you should have known if you saw my cute little green logo. So, let me not distract you from the following post. I hope you like it! I’d love to hear your thoughts after you’re done reading it! Enjoy!
This is no joke; this is a recap!
ApologetiX: That Christian Parody Band released quite a lot this month! They got two singles, “Easter / Schoolhouse” and “Haggai Led The Way / Reading Habakkuk.” In addition, they released “Doves In Snakes’ Clothing,” which features songs from singles from September 2015 to today.
Reach Records: Tedashii released an EP entitled “This Time Around,” featuring singles “808” and “Jumped Out The Whip.” Also, GAWVI is supposed to have an album coming out soon and Andy Mineo an EP. In addition, Lecrae became Dr. Lecrae, receiving an honorary doctorate in music from Canada Christian College.
AMP: The worship hip-hop trio released a music video for their latest release “Glory Songs: Deluxe Edition.” Shot in South Korea, it reminds us how wonderful “The Master” is.
1GN: With the album art and track listing publically announced, fans are hyped for “Unite” and the “Get Hype” music video.
Austin & Lindsey Adamec: Austin Adamec, acclaimed singer and songwriter, and Lindsey Adamec, former 1GN member, released their first worship EP together!
WOW: Some have been in the biz for a short time, others for awhile. WOW released their first collection over twenty years ago. So, how do you celebrate? With another collection, of course!!!
Newsboys: The boys started a “Love Riot” and their album hit #1 on multiple charts and #14 on the Billboard 200. (And some of you might have heard the song “Guilty” in God’s Not Dead 2, which premiered today.)
Stryper: While gearing up for their big worldwide tour starting late April, a huge Facebook discussion started wondering if Ted Cruz was the lead singer of Stryper!?!
Adventures In Odyssey: Fans love to hear what’s up next, and AIO has revealed the cover for Album 61!
Odyssey Scoop: An improved look for one of the most popular AIO sites is just plain awesome! I love it!
Christopher 164: That blogger released his most important post yet, but it debuted with minimal attention. But it’s a word from the Lord that everyone must hear!
Music Jams (Albums I First Heard In March)
Here's one with Liam:
Q: Introduce yourself.
A:I am Liam Siegler, and manage the blog ResoluteforChrist.com, formerly known as the Soldiers of God.)
Q: In short, why did you have to reboot tSOGgie?
A: Well, for one there was a server change, and I didn't back up the (old) blog, so I lost all the data. I also wanted to change the name due to what I felt were military connotations. For both those reasons combined started the new blog.
Q: Any plans for the new site?
A: Not anything at the moment. Just trying to post articles amidst the school-year! Hopefully though I'll have some interesting articles coming out once every 1-2 weeks, so subscribe to stay updated. :)
And one with J. Jackson from ApologetiX:
Q: Introduce yourself and the band for those who don’t know who you are.
A: I’m J. Jackson, lead singer for ApologetiX (That Christian Parody Band). We specialize in biblical parodies of rock and pop hits from the yesterday and today. We’re sort of like “Weird Al” Yankovic meets Billy Graham.
Q: The band financially hasn’t been doing so well. Do you mind briefing us about that?
A: Well, God always provides, but this band is primarily a ministry, and you know how ministries always seem to be in need. Our mission is to reach the lost and to teach the rest. Jesus calls us to be fishers of men — we use parodies as our bait.
Q: What encourages you to keep on doing what you are doing?
A: God encourages us in many ways. One, I am very pleased with the quality of what we are able to put out and the message content, which covers the entire Bible, even parts you don’t usually hear about in other Christian songs. Two, we get encouraging emails and Facebook messages from fans all over the world telling us about the impact we have had in their lives.
Q: Anything you can tell us about future projects?
A: We have a new CD coming out called “Doves in Snakes’ Clothing” that should be available in early April. The CD after that is about the so-called Minor Prophets — the last 12 books of the Old Testament — Hosea through Malachi.
Q: What is the APX encyclopedia gonna be like?
A: The ApologetiX Encyclopedia will be an e-book companion piece to the ApologetiX Songbook. It will contain copies all kinds of things you've never seen: tons of rare photos, flyers, posters, articles, and even the original handwritten notes I made when writing some of our best-loved parodies, including many alternate lines. It will also have features on the many past and present members and line-ups of the band and at least 150 notable concerts we played (and what made them special). And maybe some info on songs from the vaults you've never heard.
Q: Any last words?
A: And they lived happily ever after. The end.
Hello again! I’m so happy you finished reading my post, and, boy, do I hope you liked it!
