Hello, there! I’m Christopher, which you should have known if you saw my cute little green logo. So, let me not distract you from the following post. I hope you like it! I’d love to hear your thoughts after you’re done reading it! Enjoy!
Please note that the pictures of the guitarists are me impersonating them. To see real pictures of the band, click here.
Have you ever listened to ApologetiX?
If not, shame on you.
Well, they are REALLY good and you should check them out! Just ask MimeForJesus!
Well, I am going to review these CDs under what I am calling “The TNT Years.” It started with Recovery and still continues.
You see, after Karl left the band, “Hubie” stepped in and played guitar, took over the production, and still played keyboards. Then, the next year, APX got two guitarists, Tom Tincha and Tom Milnes. In 2012, Tom Milnes left the band as an official guitarist, but you can still hear his work in APX’s new albums and you can see him, sometimes, playing with the band during live shows.
So, all these CDs are in the TNT Years, except FutureTense. And the era still continues today. But I am only reviewing years 2008-2013. The years after is what I call “The Singles Group Years,” which I will start reviewing two albums at a time.
Anyways, here we go!
Classics: Now, “Hubie” put a lot of effort in putting these albums together! These Classic albums (all released in 2010, except Christmas) were remastered and they are to sound a lot better! Unfortunately, I don’t own a Classic album at the time being, so I can’t give you a good review on that basis, but I do plan on reviewing Classics-Christmas in December!!!
Overall, great stuff! ApologetiX is amazing! Their parodies are must-hears! You all go and support them, because they are struggling financially.
God bless! Read on for cool stuff!
Songs I Knew the Originals Of
All right, I don’t listen to secular music, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t hear any secular music. I hear songs, namely from going outside to the store and such. So, I will go through the songs and note my experience and stuff. Here we go!
We Will Walk Through: This is the most notable song because we hear the audience singing it during football games. Enough said.
We’re More Than Champions: I remember that at one school I attended, a few kids were singing the chorus (or the first line or two of it). And, plus, I heard it several times while shopping at HomePlus. Ha, ha.
The Boys Aren’t Backin’ Down: Now, I don’t know how much this qualifies to be here, but sometimes right before commercial break in football, they’ll play 5 seconds of a secular song to tune out. And, several times, they would play part of the original of this song.
Weep Jeremiah: Wha, duh. Ditto, football. Except, this time while the Cowboys were in London, they played part of the guitar intro of this song during a timeout or something like that.
Lived The Day You Died: Well, this song had some airplay on Korean radio several time. I heard at least one and my dad one after we heard APX’s parody. Surprising and freaky at the same time. But there are other songs that APX parodied that had some airplay around here, and I mean not only the newer songs. Like I heard a KOREAN version of the original of “Bethlehemian Rhapsody!” But I haven’t heard other Korean versions of American songs. I DO know that I have heard one or two others, but I can’t remember which ones. What do you want me to do? Memorize my life?
Check out my ratings for these albums!
Ye best be glad you stuck around! Because it’s now time for a GIVEAWAY!!!
So, there are three requirements.
1. You can not be Trent Blake, Madeline Grace, Robert Thacker, Eva H., Section Solo, MimeForJesus, Joy Swen, Christopher Green, Josh Taylor, Kevin McCreary, Cambrie, Josh A., Gabrielle, or Christopher 164. The ones mentioned have received APX albums by either giveaways or gifts or own this site. My rule is that those who receive singles have to wait for three giveaways to pass or six months. Those who receive full albums have to wait for one year to enter in another giveaway.
2. You must answer this question: Which Tommy came into the band first? Is it current guitarist Tom Tincha or occasional guitarist Tom Milnes? Only the people who get it right are entered into the drawing. If you ALL got it wrong, then I will have to pick one of you. You are allowed to do your research, but you are not allowed to tell anyone. If that is the case, then you are out of the drawing and possibly the giveaway may close automatically (no guarantee that anyone will win).
3. You MUST choose the album that you want. It must be one of the ones that I mentioned EXCEPT FutureTense, any of the Classics and the three singles/EPs, 20:20 Vision, and Handheld Messiah. If you mistakenly choose one of the ones I mentioned, then either you are not eligible to enter or I will pick for you.
So, what are you waiting for? GET YOUR ENTRIES IN!!! Comment below!!! Giveaway closes on June 2nd, 10:00 PM, New York Time. And tell ALL your friends!
Any questions? Ask away below!!!
There's one more thing to note: you may have to wait for your download to come in your email inbox. I have to send the money through mail to J. and it can take between 1-4 weeks to get there and for you to receive your download.
Hello again! I’m so happy you finished reading my post, and, boy, do I hope you liked it!
