Hello, there! I’m Christopher, which you should have known if you saw my cute little green logo. So, let me not distract you from the following post. I hope you like it! I’d love to hear your thoughts after you’re done reading it! Enjoy!
I’m sure you all have heard of Lecrae, that Christian rapper who hit #1 on the Billboard chart. And I’ve been running my site for over a year and I haven’t reviewed him yet! That’s about to change right now.
So, How Did I Hear About Lecrae? (Click Here)
Unlike some other artists I’ve reviewed, there isn’t that much of a story with Crae. I remember seeing him in a Christian bookstore once when I was younger and when I turned like 14 or 15, my parents gave me “After The Music Stops” (along with Go Fish’s “Kids Music”) for my birthday. Boom.
So, as I’m writing this review, I’m actually gonna go through and listen to the Lecrae albums again (but Rehab: The Overdose and Anomaly I haven’t heard before). And the Church Clothes mixtapes will be a separate review.
One quick thing: Christopher, why do you choose now to review Lecrae?
Well, on May 3rd, Crae is gonna release his first book “Unashamed.” So these reviews should help hype up a little excitement!
Okay, here we go!
Real Talk (2004)
After The Music Stops (2006)
Rehab: The Overdose (2011)
Rehab: Deluxe Edition (2011)
So, my overall thoughts: I really like Lecrae. I love the fact that his lyrics are so God centered and show that he’s not ashamed. It’s great to see someone rep the kingdom like he does. (Of course he’s not perfect and I have a few things I talk about, but for the most part, he’s great.)
Anyways, he has a great bunch of material that you all should check out! I tried to come up a favorite album list, but it was kinda tough. But this is what my list looks like right now:
