I think we can all admit that we are not perfect. (If you think you are perfect, then there really must be something wrong with you.)
But when we come to grips with the fact that we made a mistake, we can often beat ourselves up about it too much. Not good.
Why do we often forget God’s wonderful promise in 1st John 1:9 that says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
God will forgive us whenever we do wrong if we confess! Then why do we wallow in the pit of despair when He can raise up back up?
I know that sometimes I bang my head around (mentally . . . if that makes sense) about some things I could have done differently or shouldn’t have done, but in the end I should be trusting the Lord Jesus that he will use even my failures for His glory and that he will make all things beautiful.
This doesn’t mean I deliberately do wrong and give the Lord a hard time. No way. But I am thankful that the Lord does fix up my messes for His glory.
He is still perfecting me. I am so thankful for that! I’m just under construction. I’m just unfinished.
