Hello, there! I’m Christopher, which you should have known if you saw my cute little green logo. So, let me not distract you from the following post. I hope you like it! I’d love to hear your thoughts after you’re done reading it! Enjoy!
Wow, can you believe it? On November 28th, 2014, I hit the “Publish” button in my Weebly editor, sending my site into cyberspace worldwide.
This has been an amazing ride! I think this is my 135th post, I have had about 80 people who commented, 8000+ comments (and 7000+ upvotes), and 8700+ visitors and 64000+ page views!
Guys, this has been a wonderful journey and I’m so privileged it’s been a whole year!
Mind if I tell a little history?
If you want to read the story of how I started my site, then read “I Got A Story – The Genesis Of My Website.”
So I launched my website, and Trenton Landmark, Jackson A., Liam Siegler, and Cambrie were among the first to comment! Thanks, y’all for the first comments!
And then about a week later, I posted “Devotional Corner – An Empty Shell,” and Christopher Green commented! It’s been fun developing our relationship together! Thanks for the memories! Nice name! And, guys, check out his blog!
A great Christmas passed by with a few more commenters, like Section Solo and Elisabeth Sullivan. Y’all are awesome!
Then in January, Trent Blake commented for his first time on “Crazy, Random Thought – Come Later, Lord Jesus.” That was awesome!
Then, either a girl saw some strange number followed her or she looked at her digests, and she also posted her first comment on “Come Later, Lord Jesus.” That was MimeForJesus, or also known as Laura Owens. She’s been an awesome commenter her and I’m so grateful that God orchestrated all that for her to join this small community!
Then I asked MFJ to pull Christy over here to talk about Blimey Cow on my 11th post. And Christy has been an active commenter here and there. But she’s fun to have around!
And then Madeleine came around! She is such a wonderful encourager and helper! Bless her, Lord, for that! Thanks!
And Rachel Joy has commented occasionally, first on “Crazy, Random Thoughts – Knowledge, Faith, And Community.” Since like September, we’ve had fun through email (it was when I asked to interview her, then the conversation hasn’t stopped as we shifted to other topics).
Around the same time, the Guitar With Arms came around! I think he started actively reading my blog around March, but his faithfulness to my blog and reading nearly every single post is just awesome! Thanks! He has a great blog that I started to call Blog With Arms!
At some point of time, I started to read Lydia Lee’s blog. And she has encouraged me so much! Her inspiring posts have helped me keep focus on God’s way and she graciously let me interview her in September.
J. Jackson is the lead singer of ApologetiX and he did visit my site at least once and also helped me write my “Fan TreeHouse – ApologetiX: A Look Back And Ahead” and let me interview him in June.
Robert Thacker has been here and there, but he’s a great friend! I also got to interview him and review his audio drama! (Actually, first time this is ever said outside of private circles, Robert actually gave me a review copy of his audio drama! My first, and only, review copy ever! That was awesome! Thanks, man!)
Emma stopped by at one point, but didn’t start to semi-actively read until like mid-summer. Though she can’t always make a point to visit all the time, she is a wonderful commenter with few words. And if you remember that I have a few reviews with no comments, then you start to realize how much these few words mean to you: “Great post!”
Eva first commented on “Devotional Corner – The More I Spend Time With God . . .” and it was a tad old at that time (a few months, probably), but her presence and encouragement has been wonderful! Another wonderful encourager!
Rapunzel is a fun person to have around here. She started commenting in late March, but kinda dropped out in late April, but has recently been active again in some respects. One of the first things she said on my site was that I’m hilarious. I am?
Peanut has never commented on my site because he’s just a baby! But in late April, I posted my oh-so-popular post “Crazy, Random Thoughts – Dropbox, Life, and Five.” He’s a wonderful addition to our family! He’s just plain awesome! Thanks for praying for us, y’all!
Lydia Schroetlin has been a wonderful helper for the few months she was around! (She is not the same as Lydia Lee, though I actually was suspicious at one point, ha, ha!) She helped me in many ways. Thanks a ton!
Emy Evo is such a fun commenter! We have a fun time having fun and making jokes! She has a great sense of humor! She once said, “numbersignwhatsanumbersign.” Ha, ha, ha!
Lynn Cory is the author of Neighborhood Initiative, which I reviewed . . . and he commented on my site! Ahhhh! Crazy, huh? He reposted my review on his site and that was so awesome!
I met George Kirrin via AIO Wiki and we had fun chatting together for a long time! That was fun! And then he came to my site and commented on some of my posts. That was fun!
Me and Taylor really started talking together on the Soldiers of God related to predestination and we moved the conversation over to my site. And we had a nice conversation and pretty much our friendship was started there. He has a great blog called Yearning For Christ! Check it out!
Tony Hue is a Disqus employee who commented on my site quite a while back on a Disqus post, and recently we’ve been emailing each other back and forth! He’s a fun guy!
Sarah Grace and I met via Audio Theatre Central and she’s an active commenter on Christopher Green’s blog. And her here is pretty awesome! Turns out she’s not the only person who comments with the first name contains Sarah!
Sarah Jane is the other person! She just recently started commenting and she really makes me think! Thanks a ton!
Wow, it turns out I started talking about some commenters who has helped me on this path. Well, I can talk about a ton of things, right?
Well, this site wouldn’t be a year old without you guys! Thanks a ton!
And then I have a newsletter, the 164 Outsiders. I have a nice number of subscribers. Thanks, guys, for subscribing!
Anyways, I asked them to share how my site impacted them! And guess how many people responded! One.
Madeleine Grace says, “I love reading blogs, especially from people who are around my age and who are Christians and Rebelutionaries! When I stumbled upon your blog, it had all of those qualities ad more! What really excited me to read your blog more was the fact that you live in Korea! Why? Because you’re someone with a unique and different mindset and viewpoint from mine who lives in a very different culture! I was excited to see what thoughts you had/have on different issues and also on our faith in Christ! As I kept reading on, there we’re so many post that inspired me and nurtured me in my faith and also just opening my eyes and made aware of things in the world and in my own life! Christopher 164 has impacted me so much! It's not just another Christian blog with Christian values, it’s unique, it’s genuine, it’s real, it's not just a “do this” and “don't do that” kind of thing. The blog that helps empower teens just like me! An it's not only written by a teen just like me, but by a teen who lives overseas who has a different worldview than me! It's relatable and very heartfelt! It's vulnerable and gives examples from real life experiences! I guess I love it so much ‘cause it's genuine and I see a passion in Christopher that I rarely see anymore!!! And it speaks to my life! And is relevant to me! Thank you Christopher!!”
Wow, what wonderful, encouraging, inspiring words. But, as Explorer4Lyfe says it’s God working in and through me! I’m so thankful that God can use me to impact lives for the better and helping you guys in the faith!
My job is to make sure you’re on the “Narrow Way to Heaven.” Then to make sure you “Take one step, two step, and grow in the Lord Christ.” And then I hope you will be inspired to fight this “Spiritual Warfare.”
But, as I said, others have helped me along the way. Of course, God. Thanks a ton for your wonderful input!
Of course, the commenters help keep me going, but also the services I use. Like Disqus, the best commenting system ever. Thanks for this wonderful service! And Weebly! This website wouldn’t be here without you! Those are the two biggest company helpers with me and my site.
Again, thanks for being with me during this first year. Excited for the next year!
Anyways, I’d love to hear what you like about my site! I have a few polls at the end of this post, asking questions about my site. Please take a little time to fill ‘em out.
Also, I got a form down below so you can ask me questions for a Q&A! For now it’s on this post, but I’ll be moving it soon to the Fun page. Excited for . . . “Why Ask Me?”
As I said, the commenters help me keep going! So please, please do comment down below!
Thanks so much again! God bless you all!
Oh, if you’re wondering why I didn’t go thru a ton of posts saying my favorites, I do that every 100 posts. So check out “Media Update – 100 Posts!?!?!”
Hello again! I’m so happy you finished reading my post, and, boy, do I hope you liked it!
