Hello, there! I’m Christopher, which you should have known if you saw my cute little green logo. So, let me not distract you from the following post. I hope you like it! I’d love to hear your thoughts after you’re done reading it! Enjoy!
Wow, guys! It’s been almost three months! First, let me bore you with some stats before I continue on with what I wanna say.
Well, I have almost posted 50 posts (not going to do what I did with post 25 this time) and had 33 people who have commented here, 750+ comments, 950+ upvotes given here, 1100+ visitors, and 6500+ pageviews! Wow, God has been so wonderful! In February, so many people came to the site, including one day with 40 visitors! I was floored! People from Korea, America, Canada (yeah, can’t forget you Chris, and great name you have), Norway (you too, Becca Magerøy) and even Australia and Turkey!
I sometimes go to Google and see how high my website ranks (I type in ‘christopher 164’). Well, at first, the first result was my Disqus profile (and still is) and most of the other pages were pages I commented on, namely Audio Theatre Central. Now, the Disqus Community is second and my website are at least the next three. And my pictures are also appearing in the “Images” tab. (I just checked Google and my site is result #2.)
My website definitely looks different than when I first released it. I have two slideshows (one I’ll get to later), a feed sidebar with my latest five posts, five of the most important and my favorite posts (which might still be under construction), and a tracker.
Note to you guys, you can go thru the marathon of posts starting here and comment. I see all the comments you post. If some of you are wondering, I haven’t been all too active in the comments the last few weeks, due to how busy I am. But I will get to them eventually. I am not ignoring anyone. I want to show how much I care.
I would have never dreamed that my site would grow this big and popular. Yes, I am still growing, but it’s going great! I had advertised this place at the Ceiling Fan community and the Innermunity and had a few people come over from there. But a few people promoted me (like Chris Green and Trenton Landmark) and more started coming. Then, when I went to Soldiers of God (foreversoldiersofGod.blogspot.com), more started coming. And I started following more people on Disqus and they came over. Also, by promoting others, like Audio Theatre Central and Lydia Lee, a few others came by.
But the day one was not the best day of my life. Yes, I was proud I finally got the site running, but it was really stressful getting the site up (a whole story for later) and day two wasn’t much better. I many would come. Actually, I had twelve followers on Disqus, and the day after I released my site, I had 11. No one commented and whatnot. I got no immediate response. I was heartbroken. But, some how, I went to read Trent Blake’s Disqus bio (it was when he was telling what mood he was in) and he said that he was “anxious, yet peaceful.” And that spoke volumes to me. I just had to lay it all down in God’s hands and he would give me peace and his will would prevail. And he moved. Praise the Lord.
If I put shirts out for sale, one of them would say “It’s not about me, it’s about God and others.” And that’s what I’m trying to practice here at my site. I am writing devotions to strengthen and encourage others and to show how much I love God. And then I am promoting others thru reviews and my advertisement slide. I have a few more pictures to add (like the website from people like Robert Thacker, Jackson A. and Elisabeth Sullivan) and you can give me suggestions. But I can’t do everything (and won’t).
In return, you can spread the word about me. I have buttons where you can share on Facebook and Twitter. You can also share the discussions and also “retweet” some of the comments! But any way of promotion, whether by blog posts or word of mouth, I wholeheartedly appreciate it.
And please tell me how you found out about my website! Just drop by a comment below. I might have followed you on Disqus, told you, or something else. Some of you I have no idea how you even came and would appreciate it if you all could share your story!
May God bless you all!
(Fun fact: I went thru 4 versions for the mobile version and still have my “New Year’s” logo up there. Be on the look out for version 5 and the replacement of the old logo. And another fun fact, I posted 212 comments before I posted my website [which was like 11 months of commenting on semi-inactive sites]. Now I have probably more than 600.)
Hello again! I’m so happy you finished reading my post, and, boy, do I hope you liked it!
