Hello, there! I’m Christopher, which you should have known if you saw my cute little green logo. So, let me not distract you from the following post. I hope you like it! I’d love to hear your thoughts after you’re done reading it! Enjoy!
Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
Hello, faithful readers! I just want to share with you some ideas I’m really excited to present on my website and I really hope to do.
Like the verse I just shared above, I understand that these are plans that I have that may not happen. (Remember my post “Good Plans Went Wrong?”) I really hope I will be able to do them, but everything may all fall apart. Let’s just trust God to see what He wants me to do on my site.
First off, I got a ton of posts planned for the next couple of weeks. Unless something happens, I will be posting something on Friday for sure. But stay tuned on other days of the week, for there are bound to be other posts as well.
I hope I will be able to do some columns monthly. Really excited for some of these.
One idea I’m really excited about is a monthly review of ApologetiX’s Classics compilation albums. 2017 is ApX’s 25th anniversary and I want to celebrate by going through their classics. They have 12 Classics (and one of them is Christmas!), so I want to review one album a month.
I do want to take it one step further and give away the Classic album that I just reviewed. I really hope I can do it. The biggest problem is money.
Even though ApologetiX sponsors my website, I still am the person who pays for most of the giveaways I do. (The two I didn’t were the Passion album and the Esther book.) And this giveaway idea would mean $120 of my own money. And money is tight. My money is even tighter this year.
One thing I really hope to do this year is to go on a mission trip with my youth group. And I need to raise money for that. I’m not throwing a pity-party for myself; I’m just being honest. So I need to Just Chill And Trust Him.
So please pray. I really hope to go on the mission trip and do the giveaways. But if I had to cut one of the two, it would be the giveaways. Please pray for direction and the funds. So that’s something you can do.
Another monthly column I want to revive is the “Why Ask Me” column. I actually came up with Q&A idea soon after I started my website (including the name!). But it wasn’t time yet, and I waited a full year before bringing the column out of the box. I feel good that I waited to do that and it’s actually been eight or nine months since I’ve done one, so I plan on making this a monthly column. So please send in your questions! Ask away! Ask anything! And I shall respond “Why Ask Me?” #veryproductive
Here’s another column that has been sitting in a box for awhile. It’s called “What God Has Done.” It centers around a story that I received. Let’s say it’s a 1000 word true story about conquering a certain fear. Then I ask my readers to send approx. 250 word stories on that topic and I feature them in one post to encourage and edify the body of Christ.
Madeleine Grace sent me her story a year ago and I really want to use it. So I hope I can do this column a couple times a year, because doing something like this would be very demanding and time consuming. So first I hope to feature Madeleine’s story and sometime after summer to do one on mission trips. I’m really hoping my friends at church will contribute to that one. (Guys, wouldn’t you like your work to be featured on a website? That would ROCK!!!)
A “Why Ask Me” is no sweat (unless I have no questions), but doing “What God Has Done” will be a lot harder to do. So please pray for the strength to do it. I really hope we can do it. But we’ll see if it’s God’s will for it to sit around another while or if it’s gonna make its debut soon.
I still am doing the Fan TreeHouse Recaps monthly. Though it does take about 30 minutes putting together the news section, I kinda enjoy doing it, and Christopher Green really likes them, so that makes me happy. Oh, I do get a ton of traffic from Google from the older Recaps. :DDD
Another monthly Fan TreeHouse sub-column I hope to do are the “Interview Spotlights.” I started them way back in mid-2015 and interviewed three people (#crosspromotion) at a time. I did like four of those. Those were fun. But doing three (well, once I did do four) people at a time was very time consuming and demanding. As much as I like combining interviews together in one day (almost like what Ellen does every day . . . if I was attentive enough), it is too much work and no way I can do that monthly. So after not doing full-length interviews for almost a year, I want to resume it and only interview one person at a time.
If you sign up for the 164 Outsiders, I’ll give you previews ahead of time and give you the opportunity to ask questions! Again, it is difficult to get a hold on famous people, independent or not, so that’s another thing that’s tough. February and March are secured, but January is not official yet. So please pray for a quick and easy process. You know it’s tough to secure famous people on a blog that doesn’t get 100+ visitors a day (which I’ve never hit). I hope I’ll be given a chance and that they’ll share the interview around. I’m hopeful, but it’s all uncertain.
For all you who aren’t signed to the 164 Outsiders will have absolutely no idea who I’ll interview until I post the interview. But if you sign up, then you might even be able to participate in the interview.
In addition, I plan on doing a monthly personal recap of my life in the form of “The Journey Of My Life.” I just share the things that are going on in my life, things I’m thinking about, stories of random things, and things I’m trying to learn. It just shows that I’m a human being with real thoughts, not a computer who posts YouTube videos every week (which I started adding personal thoughts to so it can have a more personal feel to it). I don’t know what comes up in your brain when you read it, but it definitely reveals my heart to you and you can connect with me in a greater way than what was possible beforehand. I do this namely to unleash my thoughts, for the faithful readers, and my friends at church. It’s all about closer bonds and relationships.
Lots of exciting stuff coming up, huh?
Whenever there’s a YouTube video I wanna feature, whenever I have a fan article, whenever I have a review of something other than ApologetiX, whenever I have a crazy, random thought, or a devotion, then they will be posted when I conceive them. But they aren’t bound to any times or schedules and they’ll blow your face at any minute.
As far as my website is concerned, I think that’s it. I am really excited about 2017. I believe God is gonna be taking this site to new heights, even if it’s small in the world’s eyes, and it’s gonna be blessing more and more people and becoming a brighter light in the darkness. Really excited to see what’s in store.
For me personally, I do have that mission trip coming up. I really hope to do that. In addition, I will be starting college in the fall. Plus, as I’m growing up, I’m gonna be learning new things, doing new things, and thinking about new things. I’m just asking God to direct my thoughts and to show me His will. And to give me peace.
Always learning how to Just Chill And Trust Him.
Thanks for your constant support and God bless you awesome people!!!
Oh, one more thing: how do you all like my new logo??? :DDD I actually created it about a year ago and forgot about it. I really, really like it!
Hello again! I’m so happy you finished reading my post, and, boy, do I hope you liked it!
